A LIMITED NUMBER OF EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS, under the tutelage and mentorship of faculty and guest artists, will create, develop and
 present new dance works using dancers selected from the Pro Danza Workshop.

  Employing methods of collaboration, improvisation and an array of
choreographic techniques, choreographers will share in an exciting opportunity to investigate the creative process leading to production of their dances at the close of the Festival.

The choreographers chosen for the Choreographers Workshop will be expected to take at least one technique class each day. Additional daily classes are optional. Rehearsal time for choreographers and dancers selected will be provided.

Pro Danza faculty mentors will encourage and support the possibilities for inquiry and discovery that emerging choreographers might not find at home, whether in the USA or elsewhere. Choreographers should view this workshop as a unique opportunity to work towards exceptional and unusual exploration in the creation of movement narrative.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
for CHOREOGRAPHERS WORKSHOP

1. APPLICANT MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER.

(Preference will be given to applicants 21 years or older. However, if evidence of past choreographic accomplishment is available, this together with a strong recommendation from a recent instructor or mentor, will enable us to consider the under-21 applicant.)

2. COMPLETED APPLICATION and APPLICATION FEE

3. YOUR RESUME - A DESCRIPTION OF YOUR CHOREOGRAPHIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS and YOUR TRAINING in CHOREOGRAPHY.

4. WRITTEN STATEMENT by APPLICANT PERTAINING to LONG-RANGE GOALS, IMMEDIATE CURIOSITIES, PLANS and PASSIONS.

5. TWO (2) LETTERS of RECOMMENDATION. LETTERS of RECOMMENDATION SHOULD SPEAK SPECIFICALLY TO CHOREOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE and POTENTIAL of the CANDIDATE in THIS FIELD OF MOVEMENT EXPRESSION.

6. A DVD OR VHS VIDEOTAPE CONTAINING NO MORE THAN 12 MINUTES of ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY - ONE FULL WORK, PLUS IF TIME PERMITS, EXCERPTS OF NOT LESS THAN 2 MINUTES. PLEASE LABEL DVDs and VIDEO CASSETTES to INCLUDE LOCATION, DATE and PERFORMERS. (EUROPEAN DVD FORMAT IS ACCEPTABLE, THOUGH NOT VHS.)
