After a dizzying experience, the ride stops on the last day on a big outdoor stage overlooking a majestic Tuscan vista - for another exciting night of dancing and feasting."

Pro Danza Italia/USA e' un workshop estivo di 4 settimane che viene tenuto sulla costa Toscana. E’ nato 16 anni fa dalla collaborazione tra il corpo docente di Bard College e di Bennington College - "culla" della danza moderna americana. Tra i docenti di Bennington College figurano personalita' di grande fama quali: Martha GRAHAM, Erick HAWKINS, Hanya HOLM, Charles WEIDMAN e molti altri che hanno contribuito ad elevare questa disciplina a livello universitario.

 

 Pro Danza Italia/USA is a 4-week intensive summer dance Workshop in Italy on the Tuscan coast. This unique multicultural program of study in varied and innovative approaches to contemporary movement and modern dance technique and composition was created by faculty from the dance departments of Bard College and Bennington College - the cradle of American modern dance in academia.

 

Nel corso delle passate stagioni sono stati inseriti Jazz, Tap, Site Specific, Cuban Religious Dance, danza classica indiana Kathak, danza dell'Africa Occidentale e HipHop.

 

Nell'estate 2008 e' stato inaugurato con grande successo The Choreographers Workshop.

 Offriamo l'opportunita' ad un numero limitato di coreografi emergenti di creare pezzi originali sotto la guida del nostro corpo docenti e degli artisti ospiti del programma. In the past few years we have added Jazz, Tap, Site Specific, Cuban Religious Dance, Kathak Indian Classical, West African and HipHop. 

In summer 2008 The Choreographers Workshop was inaugurated with great success.


A limited number of emerging choreograpers, under the tutelage and mentorship of faculty and guest artists, will create and develop new works on dancers selected from 2009 Pro Danza workshop.
